The Drop Picks #1: GPT-6 builds tools inside the chat, and four more worth your time
Every week our feed pulls in more than a hundred new videos from the AI labs, the creators who test the tools and the founders building what comes next. Most of it is noise. These are the five worth your time this week, and what to actually do with each one. The full feed lives on Watch, updated every hour.
1. GPT-6 lands in ChatGPT, and answers can now build their own interface
OpenAI · Introducing GPT-6 in ChatGPT with Intelligent UI. GPT-6 is rolling out in ChatGPT in two versions: Sol on the paid plans and Luna on the free ones. The headline feature, Intelligent UI, answers with interactive visuals and small working tools inside the chat instead of a wall of text.
Why it matters: a chat that hands back a working calculator, checklist or comparison table means a lot of small business tools no longer need a developer or a subscription.
Try this: ask it to build the one calculator your customers always ask you about, like a quote estimator or a price comparison. If the result is good enough to share, you just saved yourself a build.
2. Most people are using ChatGPT Dots wrong
Riley Brown · Everyone Is Getting ChatGPT Dots Wrong. Nine practical habits for Dots, the agent inside ChatGPT: talking to it by voice, kicking off Codex sessions, dropping links and notes into the chat, building pages and sites, a daily brief, and scheduled check-ins.
Why it matters: new agent features land every week, but the value comes from habits, not features. This is a habits video.
Try this: set up the daily brief first. It is the lowest-effort way to find out whether an agent earns a permanent spot in your day.
3. Stop overpaying for AI
OpenAI · Stop Overpaying for Intelligence (DevDay 2026). How to cut AI costs without losing quality: measure cost per task, pick the right model and reasoning level for each job, and use prompt caching and batch processing.
Why it matters: once AI runs inside your business instead of in a chat window, the bill becomes the quiet problem. We run this site the same way: the short summaries on our Watch page are written by a small, cheap model, because a big one would cost far more and read no better.
Try this: before you automate anything, write down what one run costs. Then try the smallest model that still passes your quality bar.
4. The week in AI news, in one video
Matt Wolfe · AI News: Haiku-5.5, Visual ChatGPT, Grok's New Trick, and more. A roundup of the week, including Anthropic's new Claude Haiku 5.5, the visual ChatGPT update above and what changed in Grok.
Why it matters: if you only have one video's worth of time for AI news each week, a roundup like this is it. Small, fast models like Haiku are also what make everyday automations affordable.
Try this: watch it at 1.5x speed on Friday and write down the one thing worth testing next week. One, not five.
5. Your company's story is your strategy
a16z · What is the story of your company? Ben Horowitz on why a company's story and its strategy are the same thing, drawing on his years running Loudcloud, which became Opsware and was bought by HP.
Why it matters: every tool on this list makes building faster. None of them tells you what to build. That part is still yours.
Try this: write your business's story in three sentences: who it is for, what changes for them, and why you. If you cannot, no AI tool will fix it.
What is next from us
Our first HighLevel build is on the way: an AI booking receptionist that texts back missed calls, books leads on its own and gives no-shows a friendly second chance, with a step-by-step video for every part. Get it first in The Drop. Until then, grab the free Drops.
